Rhinebeck

I lived in Rhinebeck for five summers when I went to summer camp at Alderkill from 1958 to 1964. I loved the camp after my first year.  That year, I was 7 and was very homesick.  Mrs Dresser, the camp owner le me stay in her house.

I moved to Rhinebeck after my stint working in NYC and living with my parents after an unfortunate event at New England College.   I lived at 11 Kipp Road with David Rothchild, Sarah Young, and Michael Ventura. The four of us ran the Jack in the Box in Kingston.  David was the manager, and we did everything we could to squeeze money out of the monthly budget.  We'd put one pickle on the burger, and use the pickle juice to clean the grill. It did a great job, too! WE would also upsell and ask every customer if they wanted an apple pie with their order. Sarah was especially good at moving pies! I was the Assistant Mgr, which meant I got the closing shift and had to clean the grill and the milkshake machine.
